Casa Musica - Terms and Conditions
1. Registration and Security Deposit
1.1 A non-refundable registration fee of S$35 per student is payable upon enrolment to create student records, and provide access to the student and parent portal.
1.2 A non-refundable security deposit of S$150 per student is required upon enrolment to secure the student’s lesson slot each month and to protect Casa Musica against unpaid fees or sudden withdrawal.
a. The security deposit can only be applied to the final lessons of enrolment, specifically S$150 = 2 × 30-minute lessons or 1 × 60-minute lesson.
b. The security deposit cannot be used to pay for regular monthly lessons during the enrolment period.
2. Lesson Fees and Payment
2.1 Monthly lesson fees must be prepaid via PayNow, Bank Transfer, or HitPay.
2.2 HitPay Payments
a. Automatic deduction occurs on the 25th of each month for the following month’s fees.
b. Charges are monthly regardless of schedule changes.
c. All HitPay convenience fees are borne by the payer.
2.3 All fees are exclusive of 9% GST.
2.4 Only the first month of enrolment will be prorated. Thereafter, full monthly fees apply, irrespective of schedule changes.
2.5 Monthly packages include four (4) lessons only. 5th-week lessons will use existing makeup credits. If no makeup credits exist, the 5th-week lesson is billed 7 days prior upon confirmation.
2.6 All lesson fees are final and non-refundable.
3. Billing and Overdue Payments
3.1 Invoices are issued on the 25th of each month, and fees are due by the 1st of the following month. A 3-day grace period applies.
3.2 Late Payment Actions (with or without notice)
a. 4th day of the month onward: Scheduled lessons will be paused until full payment is received.
b. 7th day of the month: If payment is still not received, lessons remain paused, and the reserved slot will be released to other students. Any remaining makeup credits and the security deposit may be used for up to 30 days from the date of the last fully paid lesson.
c. 10th day of the month: Without payment or any communication from the parent/guardian, the student’s enrollment will be terminated, and the security deposit and any remaining makeup credits are forfeited.
4. Punctuality
4.1 Punctuality shall be observed strictly by both the teacher and the student.
4.2 If the student is late, there will be no extensions made nor rescheduling for the time lost. The lessons will start and end in accordance with the schedule.
4.3 If the teacher arrives late, the lost time will be made up accordingly.
4.4 Teachers will not start early unless this has been clearly arranged with parents or guardians in advance and is reflected in the My Music Staff schedule.
5. Lesson Observation
5.1 To ensure teaching quality, lessons may occasionally be observed by another teacher or by the Head of Education. Parents will be informed in advance via email, WhatsApp message or phone call.
5.2 Observations will not interrupt or reduce the scheduled lesson time.
6. Missed Lessons and Student Absence
6.1 Cancellations by the student must be made at least three (3) hours prior to the lesson to qualify for a makeup credit.
6.2 To qualify for a makeup lesson due to medical reasons, both of the following requirements must be met: the cancellation must be notified at least one (1) hour before the scheduled lesson, and a valid medical certificate must be submitted via WhatsApp or email to hello@casamusicasg.com.
6.3 Teacher cancellations will be rescheduled without deduction from fees.
6.4 For extended absences, makeup lessons will be arranged before or after the period of absence, and lesson slots are guaranteed for continuously enrolled students.
7. Parental Responsibility and Liability
7.1 Casa Musica waives any responsibility for personal injury, sickness, loss, or death within the school’s premises.
7.2 Parents are responsible for ensuring their child is dropped off and picked up promptly, and that the child knows where and when to meet them before and after each lesson.
7.3 Casa Musica staff are not responsible for supervising students before or after the session. Teachers and students come and go throughout the day, so staff cannot monitor children outside of their scheduled lesson times.
8. Health and Illness
8.1 Students exhibiting symptoms of contagious illnesses, including but not limited to fever, sneezing, runny nose, cough, colds, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes, or other signs of infection, must not attend in-person lessons.
8.2 If a student is unwell before or during a lesson, Casa Musica reserves the right to pause the lesson and request immediate pick-up. In such cases, the session will be recorded as a missed lesson.
8.3 Where appropriate, online lessons may be offered as an alternative if the student is able to participate from home. Requests for online lessons must be communicated in advance to facilitate scheduling with the teacher.
8.4 Make-up lessons may be arranged after the student has fully recovered, subject to the teacher’s availability and scheduling constraints.
9. Public Holidays and Teacher Leave
9.1 Casa Musica observes all eleven (11) public holidays declared by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). For easy reference, see Public Holidays.
9.2 Lessons that fall on public holidays will be cancelled and added to your makeup credits. This will not affect your fees nor be used to offset any payments.
9.3 Should the teacher take an annual leave, lessons will be rescheduled either before or after the leave period.
10. Makeup Lessons
10.1 Makeup credits for cancelled lessons, as defined under the Missed Lessons Policy, shall be issued accordingly. All makeup credits must be fully completed within 180 days from the original lesson date, regardless of the reason for the cancellation and regardless of whether the cancellation was by the student or by Casa Musica. The 180-day validity period is fixed and cannot be extended under any circumstances.
10.2 Students may book their own makeup lessons directly through the My Music Staff portal, via Casa Musica’s admin WhatsApp, or by email, subject to availability. All makeup lessons must be scheduled strictly within Casa Musica’s available time slots. Teacher availability is based on reasonably offered options and not on custom scheduling requests. In the event that the original teacher’s schedule cannot accommodate the makeup lesson, Casa Musica will provide the option to complete the lesson with a replacement teacher. Refusal to accept a replacement teacher does not entitle the student to an extension, refund, credit, or further accommodation.
10.3 Once booked, makeup lessons may be rescheduled following the standard cancellation policy. For medical reasons, the requirements in Section 6.2 must be met. Lessons that do not meet these requirements will be marked as missed.
10.4 Makeup lessons that are not completed within their validity period (including due to student scheduling difficulties, refusal of reasonable time slots, or refusal of a replacement teacher) will be automatically forfeited with no refund or credit.
10.5 Upon submission of a termination notice, the validity of all outstanding makeup lessons shall follow the Withdrawal Policy, and may shorten accordingly. The post-termination validity overrides the standard 180-day validity.
11. Withdrawal
11.1 To terminate lessons, Casa Musica must receive a formal written notice via email at hello@casamusicasg.com at least 30 days prior to the intended termination date. Withdrawal notice is considered valid only once confirmed received by Casa Musica via reply email. Verbal notices, WhatsApp messages, notices to staff or teachers, or prolonged absences do not constitute withdrawal.
11.2 Students remain enrolled and required to pay tuition fees until a valid, confirmed withdrawal notice is received. Non-attendance without notice does not release the student from payment obligations.
11.3 Prepaid lessons will continue as scheduled. The security deposit will be applied only after all prepaid lessons have been completed. Prepaid lessons are non-refundable and cannot be credited toward future enrollment.
11.4 Outstanding makeup credits must be used within 30 days of the withdrawal notice. Unattended lessons during this period are forfeited. Makeup lessons do not replace billable lessons and cannot be extended under any circumstances beyond the 30-day limit.
11.5 Casa Musica reserves the right to dismiss any student for lengthy or consecutive absences without valid notice, overdue payments for lessons, frequent misconduct that disrupts lessons or violates school policies, noncompliance with the Student Policy, or disrespectful or inappropriate behavior toward teachers or staff. In the event of dismissal, the lesson slot will be immediately released and may be offered to other students. All outstanding payments, prepaid fees, and the security deposit will be forfeited and are non-refundable.
11.6 Students wishing to re-enroll are subject to slot availability and must submit a new security deposit of S$150 to secure their spot. Prepaid lessons or deposits from previous enrollment cannot be carried over.
12. Personal and School Property
12.1 Casa Musica does not assume any responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property brought onto school premises or common areas. This includes, but is not limited to, personal instruments, watches, jewellery, clothing, cameras, cell phones, money, purses, wallets, car keys, and other personal belongings. Students and their families are responsible for securing their own property at all times. Casa Musica is not liable for any loss or damage, even in cases of negligence.
12.2 Students and their families are fully responsible for any damage caused to Casa Musica’s materials, equipment, or property. “Damage” refers to any harm beyond normal wear and tear caused by misuse, negligence, or intentional actions.
a. In the event of damage, the student/family must pay the full replacement cost within 7 days of the incident via a method specified by Casa Musica. Casa Musica reserves the right to document and assess the damage, and such assessment shall be considered final for billing purposes.
b. Failure to provide the replacement or equivalent payment within the 7-day period may result in forfeiture of remaining lessons for that month, and no further lessons will be conducted until the matter is fully resolved. Prepaid lessons cannot be used to offset damages.
13. Refund Policy
13.1 Strict no-refund policy for all lesson fees, including the registration fee and security deposit.
14. Official Matters
14.1 Communication must be via email.
14.2 Casa Musica reserves the right to amend terms and conditions, including fee adjustments.
14.3 Continuous enrollment constitutes acceptance of updated terms and conditions.
14.4 Customers will be informed of any changes in terms and conditions via email and may terminate their enrollment within two (2) months from the date of the changes if they do not agree to the revised terms.
15. Personal Data and Marketing
15.1 Casa Musica collects and processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (2012).
15.2 Students/families consent to:
a. The storage and processing of personal data
b. The use of data for feedback, marketing, promotions, updates, and documentation
c. The use of photos/videos for marketing without compensation.
