Casa Musica - Terms and Conditions
Group Lessons

For the purposes of this policy, "Client" refers to the parent or legal guardian who enrols the student and is responsible for all payments, bookings, and communications with Casa Musica, unless the student is enrolled as an adult learner.

1. Registration

1.1 A non-refundable registration fee of S$35 per student is payable upon enrolment to create student records and provide access to the student and parent portal.

1.2 No security deposit is required for Group Lessons. Enrolment is on an ongoing, month-to-month basis, and a student's slot is secured for as long as monthly fees are paid on time in accordance with Section 3.

2. Lesson Fees and Payment

2.1 Group Lessons are charged on a per-lesson rate and are sold as part of an ongoing monthly enrolment, not as a fixed package.

2.2 Monthly lesson fees must be prepaid via PayNow, Bank Transfer, or HitPay, and are due on the 1st of each calendar month.

2.3 As the number of lesson dates falling within a calendar month varies — including where a scheduled lesson falls on a public holiday under Section 9.2 and is therefore not held — each month's invoice is pro-rated based on the actual number of lessons held that month, calculated as the per-lesson rate multiplied by the number of lessons held that month.

2.4 For enrolments starting or ending partway through a month, that month's invoice will similarly be prorated based on the number of lessons falling within the enrolled period.

2.5 All lesson fees are final and non-refundable.

2.6 Casa Musica reserves the right to set and vary the minimum and maximum class size for each Group Lesson. If a class does not meet the minimum size, Casa Musica may reschedule, merge, or cancel the class, in which case affected students will be offered an alternate session or a prorated credit against the following month's invoice for the affected session/s.

3. Billing and Overdue Payments

3.1 Invoices are issued in advance and fees are due by the 1st of each month. A 7-day grace period applies.

3.2 Late Payment Actions (with or without notice):

a. 4th day of the month onward: scheduled lessons will be paused until full payment is received.

b. 7th day of the month: if payment is still not received, lessons remain paused, and the reserved slot will be released to other students. Any remaining makeup credits may be used for up to 30 days from the date of the last fully paid lesson.

c. 10th day of the month: without payment or any communication from the parent/guardian, the student's enrolment will be terminated, and any remaining makeup credits are forfeited.

4. Punctuality

4.1 Punctuality shall be observed strictly by both the teacher and the student.

4.2 If the student is late, there will be no extensions made nor rescheduling for the time lost. The lesson will start and end in accordance with the schedule.

4.3 If the teacher arrives late, the lost time will be made up accordingly.

4.4 Teachers will not start early unless this has been clearly arranged with parents or guardians in advance and is reflected in the My Music Staff schedule.

5. Lesson Observation

5.1 To ensure teaching quality, lessons may occasionally be observed by another teacher or by the Head of Education. Parents will be informed in advance via email, WhatsApp message or phone call.

5.2 Observations will not interrupt or reduce the scheduled lesson time.

6. Missed Lessons and Student Absence

6.1 As Group Lessons are taught at a shared class pace, a missed session cannot be made up as an individual 1-to-1 lesson; makeups are addressed under Section 10 below.

6.2 Cancellations by the student must be notified at least 3 hours prior to the lesson to qualify for a makeup credit.

6.3 To qualify for a makeup credit due to medical reasons on shorter notice, both of the following requirements must be met: the cancellation must be notified at least one (1) hour before the scheduled lesson, and a valid medical certificate must be submitted via WhatsApp or email to hello@casamusicasg.com.

6.4 Cancellations that do not meet the notice requirements under Sections 6.2 or 6.3 will be recorded as a missed lesson with no makeup credit.

6.5 Teacher-initiated cancellations are not subject to Sections 6.2 to 6.4 and will always be rescheduled or offered as a makeup credit without deduction from fees, and without the same-level or same-calendar-month restrictions under Section 10.2.

7. Parental Responsibility and Liability

7.1 Casa Musica waives any responsibility for personal injury, sickness, loss, or death arising in connection with lessons conducted on the school's premises, online, or at any alternate venue used for a makeup session.

7.2 Parents are responsible for ensuring their child is dropped off and picked up promptly, and that the child knows where and when to meet them before and after each lesson.

7.3 Casa Musica staff are not responsible for supervising students before or after the session. Teachers and students come and go throughout the day, so staff cannot monitor children outside of their scheduled lesson times.

8. Health and Illness

8.1 Students exhibiting symptoms of contagious illnesses, including but not limited to fever, sneezing, runny nose, cough, colds, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes, or other signs of infection, must not attend in-person lessons.

8.2 If a student is unwell before or during a lesson, Casa Musica reserves the right to pause the lesson and request immediate pick-up. In such cases, the session will be recorded as a missed lesson.

8.3 Makeup lessons may be arranged after the student has fully recovered, subject to availability of another Group Lesson session of the same level under Section 10.

9. Public Holidays and Teacher Leave

9.1 Casa Musica observes all eleven (11) public holidays declared by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

9.2 Lessons that fall on public holidays will not be held and are excluded from that month's lesson count and fees under Section 2.4; they will not be added as makeup credits, as they are not billed in the first place.

9.3 Should the teacher take annual leave, a substitute teacher will be provided or the affected lesson will be rescheduled either before or after the leave period.

10. Makeup Lessons

10.1 A student who misses a Group Lesson in accordance with Section 6 may attend another Group Lesson session of the same level as a makeup, strictly subject to space availability. Casa Musica does not guarantee that a suitable alternate session will be available.

10.2 Makeup lessons must be completed within the same calendar month as the missed session. This validity period is fixed and cannot be extended, save at Casa Musica's discretion under exceptional circumstances.

10.3 Students may request their makeup session directly through the My Music Staff portal, via Casa Musica's admin WhatsApp, or by email, subject to availability. All makeup lessons must be scheduled strictly within Casa Musica's available class slots of the same level.

10.4 Where no alternate session of the same level is available before the end of the validity period, the missed session is forfeited with no refund or credit. This does not apply to lessons missed due to a teacher-initiated cancellation under Section 6.5, which will not expire until a suitable makeup session has been offered and completed.

10.5 Upon submission of a termination notice, the validity of any outstanding makeup lessons shall follow the Withdrawal Policy under Section 11, and may shorten accordingly.

11. Withdrawal

11.1 To discontinue lessons, Casa Musica must receive a formal written notice via email at hello@casamusicasg.com at least 30 days prior to the intended termination date. Verbal notices, WhatsApp messages, notices to staff or teachers, or prolonged absences do not constitute withdrawal.

11.2 Casa Musica will acknowledge withdrawal notices by reply email within 2 business days. Where no acknowledgement or query is received within that period, the notice is deemed received on the date it was sent, provided the Client retains proof of sending.

11.3 Students remain enrolled and required to pay monthly fees until a valid withdrawal notice is received under Sections 11.1 and 11.2. Non-attendance without notice does not release the student from payment obligations.

11.4 Where notice is given on or after the 25th of the preceding month and an invoice has been issued for the following month, the Client remains liable for that month's fees; Casa Musica will honour scheduled lessons for the notice period wherever possible.

11.5 Outstanding makeup credits must be used within 30 days of the withdrawal notice. Unattended lessons during this period are forfeited and cannot be extended beyond the 30-day limit.

11.6 Casa Musica reserves the right to dismiss any student for lengthy or consecutive absences without valid notice, overdue payments for lessons, frequent misconduct that disrupts lessons or violates school policies, noncompliance with the Student Policy, or disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour toward teachers or staff. In the event of dismissal, the lesson slot will be immediately released and may be offered to other students. All outstanding payments are forfeited and are non-refundable.

11.7 Students wishing to re-enrol are subject to slot availability. A new registration fee will apply if student records are no longer active.

12. Personal and School Property

12.1 Casa Musica does not assume any responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property brought onto school premises or common areas. This includes, but is not limited to, personal instruments, watches, jewellery, clothing, cameras, cell phones, money, purses, wallets, car keys, and other personal belongings. Students and their families are responsible for securing their own property at all times. Casa Musica is not liable for any loss or damage, even in cases of negligence.

12.2 Students and their families are fully responsible for any damage caused to Casa Musica's materials, equipment, or property. “Damage” refers to any harm beyond normal wear and tear caused by misuse, negligence, or intentional actions.

a. In the event of damage, the student/family must pay the full replacement cost within 7 days of the incident via a method specified by Casa Musica. Casa Musica reserves the right to document and assess the damage, and such assessment shall be considered final for billing purposes.

b. Failure to provide the replacement or equivalent payment within the 7-day period may result in suspension of lessons for that month until the matter is fully resolved.

13. Refund Policy

13.1 Strict no-refund policy applies to all fees, including the registration fee, save as expressly stated under Section 2.7 above.

14. Official Matters

14.1 Communication must be via email to hello@casamusicasg.com.

14.2 Casa Musica reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, including fee adjustments, with notice given via email.

14.3 Continued enrolment after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14.4 Clients will be informed of any changes to these terms via email and may terminate their enrolment within two (2) months from the date of the changes if they do not agree to the revised terms.

15. Personal Data and Marketing

15.1 Casa Musica collects and processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (2012).

15.2 Students/families consent to:

a. The storage and processing of personal data.

b. The use of data for feedback, marketing, promotions, updates, and documentation.

c. The use of photos/videos for marketing without compensation.

15.3 Consent for the use of data and photos/videos for marketing purposes under Section 15.2(b) and (c) may be withdrawn at any time by writing to hello@casamusicasg.com. This does not affect Casa Musica's right to process personal data as necessary for administering the enrolment.

16. Transferability

16.1 Group Lesson enrolments and any makeup credits are personal to the enrolled student and are non-transferable to another student or individual, whether by sale, gift, or otherwise, save with Casa Musica's prior written approval.

17. Force Majeure

17.1 Casa Musica shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, fire, flooding, epidemic or pandemic-related restrictions, or government-imposed restrictions.

17.2 Where reasonably possible, affected sessions will be moved online or rescheduled. Where this is not possible, Casa Musica will determine an equitable resolution (credit or adjustment to the following month's invoice) on a case-by-case basis.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

18.1 These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from these terms shall first be raised with Casa Musica via hello@casamusicasg.com for informal resolution before either party pursues other avenues.
