Casa Musica - Terms and Conditions
Group and Ad Hoc Lessons

For the purposes of this policy, "Client" refers to the parent or legal guardian who enrols the student and is responsible for all payments, bookings, and communications with Casa Musica, unless the student is enrolled as an adult learner.

Part A: General Terms (applies to Ad Hoc and Group Lessons)

1. Registration

1.1 A non-refundable registration fee of S$35 per student is payable upon enrolment to create student records and provide access to the student and parent portal.

1.2 No security deposit is required for Ad Hoc Lessons or Group Lessons.

2. Punctuality

2.1 Punctuality shall be observed strictly by both the teacher and the student.

2.2 If the student is late, there will be no extensions made nor rescheduling for the time lost. The lesson will start and end in accordance with the schedule.

2.3 If the teacher arrives late, the lost time will be made up accordingly.

2.4 Teachers will not start early unless this has been clearly arranged with parents or guardians in advance and is reflected in the My Music Staff schedule.

3. Lesson Observation

3.1 To ensure teaching quality, lessons may occasionally be observed by another teacher or by the Head of Education. Parents will be informed in advance via email, WhatsApp message or phone call.

3.2 Observations will not interrupt or reduce the scheduled lesson time.

4. Health and Illness

4.1 Students exhibiting symptoms of contagious illnesses, including but not limited to fever, sneezing, runny nose, cough, colds, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, rashes, or other signs of infection, must not attend in-person lessons.

4.2 If a student is unwell before or during a lesson, Casa Musica reserves the right to pause the lesson and request immediate pick-up. In such cases, the session will be recorded as a used/missed session under the relevant Ad Hoc or Group Lesson Policy.

4.3 Where appropriate, online lessons may be offered as an alternative if the student is able to participate from home. Requests for online lessons must be communicated in advance to facilitate scheduling with the teacher.

5. Public Holidays and Annual Leaves

5.1 Casa Musica observes all eleven (11) public holidays declared by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

5.2 No Ad Hoc Lessons and Group Lessons will be scheduled on a public holiday.

5.3 Should the teacher take annual leave, a substitute teacher will be provided or lessons will be rescheduled either before or after the leave period.

6. Parental Responsibility and Liability

6.1 Casa Musica waives any responsibility for personal injury, sickness, loss, or death within the school's premises.

6.2 Parents are responsible for ensuring their child is dropped off and picked up promptly, and that the child knows where and when to meet them before and after each lesson.

6.3 Casa Musica staff are not responsible for supervising students before or after the session.

7. Personal and School Property

7.1 Casa Musica does not assume any responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property brought onto school premises or common areas. Students and their families are responsible for securing their own property at all times.

7.2 Students and their families are fully responsible for any damage caused to Casa Musica's materials, equipment, or property beyond normal wear and tear, and must pay the full replacement cost within 7 days of the incident.

8. Refund Policy

8.1 Strict no-refund policy applies to all fees, including the registration fee, save as expressly stated in the Ad Hoc Lesson Policy or Group Lesson Policy below.

9. Transferability

9.1 Ad Hoc packages and Group Lesson enrolments are non-transferable to another student or another individual, whether by sale, gift, or otherwise, save with Casa Musica's prior written approval.

10. Right to Decline Service

10.1 Casa Musica reserves the right to decline further bookings or package purchases to a Client for repeated late payment, frequent last-minute cancellations, noncompliance with the Student Policy, or disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour toward teachers or staff.

11. Force Majeure

11.1 Casa Musica shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, fire, flooding, epidemic or pandemic-related restrictions, or government-imposed restrictions.

11.2 Where reasonably possible, affected sessions will be moved online or rescheduled, and validity periods extended accordingly. Where this is not possible, Casa Musica will determine an equitable resolution (credit or extension) on a case-by-case basis.

12. Official Matters

12.1 Communication must be via email to hello@casamusicasg.com.

12.2 Casa Musica reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions, including fee adjustments, with notice given via email.

12.3 Continued purchase of packages after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Personal Data and Marketing

13.1 Casa Musica collects and processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (2012).

13.2 Students/families consent to the storage and processing of personal data, the use of data for feedback, marketing, promotions, updates and documentation, and the use of photos/videos for marketing without compensation.

Part B: Ad-Hoc Lesson Policy

1. Booking

1.1 Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

1.2 Time slots are not fixed or reserved unless a booking is confirmed. Otherwise, the slot remains open for regular enrolment.

1.3 A booking is only confirmed once we receive confirmation from the teacher.

1.4 Students with regular enrolment are given priority in scheduling. Ad-hoc bookings are subject to availability after regular students have been scheduled.

1.5 Casa Musica will confirm or decline a booking request within 24 hours of the request being made.

2. Rescheduling & Cancellations

2.1 To reschedule or cancel without penalty, you must give at least 24 hours' notice.

2.2 Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will be considered a used session and cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

3. Validity

3.1 The 4-lesson package must be used within 1 month from the date of the first session.

3.2 Unused sessions after the 1-month period will be forfeited.

3.3 It is the Client's responsibility to book all sessions promptly upon payment. The 48-hour advance booking requirement (Clause 1.1) does not extend the 1-month validity period, and delays in booking do not entitle the Client to an extension or refund, save as provided under Clause 5.5 of the General Terms.

4. Payment

4.1 Full payment is required before the first session.

4.2 No refunds will be issued for partially used lesson packages.

5. Teacher Availability

5.1 We will do our best to accommodate your preferred days/times, but availability may vary weekly.

5.2 If your preferred teacher is unavailable, we will offer alternative time slots, or a substitute teacher, if preferred.

Part C — Group Lesson Policy

1. Enrolment

1.1 Group Lessons are sold in prepaid packages of 4 lessons.

1.2 Casa Musica reserves the right to set and vary the minimum and maximum class size for each Group Lesson. If a class does not meet the minimum size, Casa Musica may reschedule, merge, or cancel the class, in which case affected students will be offered an alternate session or a pro-rated credit/refund for the affected session(s).

2. Missed Lessons

2.1 As Group Lessons are taught at a shared class pace, a missed session cannot be made up as an individual 1-to-1 lesson.

2.2 A student who misses a Group Lesson may join another Group Lesson session of the same level, strictly subject to space availability, within the package's validity period. Casa Musica does not guarantee that a suitable alternate session will be available.

2.3 Where no alternate session is available before the end of the validity period, the missed session is forfeited with no refund or credit.

2.4 Cancellations must still be notified at least 24 hours prior to the lesson as a courtesy to the teacher and other students, even though this does not entitle the student to an individual makeup lesson.

3. Validity

3.1 The 4-lesson package must be used within 1 month from the date of the first session.

3.2 Unused sessions after the 1-month period will be forfeited.

3.3 It is the Client's responsibility to book/attend all sessions promptly within the validity period. Delays in scheduling do not entitle the Client to an extension or refund, save as provided under Clause 5.5 of the General Terms.

4. Payment

4.1 Full payment for the 4-lesson package is required before the first session.

4.2 No refunds will be issued for partially used packages, save where Clause 1.2 above applies.

5. Class Size

5.1 See Clause 1.2 above regarding minimum and maximum class size.

6. Teacher Availability

6.1 Should the assigned teacher be unavailable for a scheduled Group Lesson session, Casa Musica will arrange a qualified substitute teacher to conduct the session wherever possible, so that the package proceeds without disruption to the class schedule.
